Clinical Informatics Fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center

In September of 2011, the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) approved Clinical Informatics (CI) as a board-eligible subspecialty through sponsorship by the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM). For more information about the clinical informatics subspecialty, please visit the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) website.

The Division of Systems Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine plans to offer an ACGME-approved fellowship with financial support as part of a grant to Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (LPCH) by Hewlett-Packard.

We are pleased to continue a long tradition of clinical informatics at Stanford dating to the founding of the biomedical informatics graduate program and are planning an excellent fellowship experience at institutions that have made applied clinical informatics a priority in patient care (e.g. see http://www.lpch.org/aboutus/news/releases/2010/cpoe-research.html, http://www.lpch.org/aboutus/news/releases/2011/hp-dashboard.html, and http://www.lpch.org/aboutus/news/releases/2011/emr.html).
